Mercedes-Benz Pickup Truck Concept

The pickup truck scene may be getting a new kid on the block. Mercedes-Benz could be adding a pickup truck to their model lineup with multiple trims to be a work truck or a luxury truck. While the model launch is still years away, information has been released from an anonymous attendee at a design forum.
Three trims are reportedly planned for the Mercedes pickup truck, which will span a wide breadth of customers' needs. The base would be a contractor-grade work truck with very few embellishments, optional all-wheel drive and a 2.3-liter four-cylinder diesel with 188 hp. The next level, or mid-grade version would have the same engine but more available options. Finally, the top-level version will offer more luxury features and instead of a four-cylinder diesel, a six-cylinder diesel with around 255-hp engine with run this version of the pickup.
Early rumors are calling the pickup the GLT but some reports are saying the X-Class or Z-Class are the frontrunners. Mercedes reportedly favors the "X-Class" because it makes the truck sound tougher. Whatever Mercedes decides to name it, we can only hope that they decide quickly so we can get in line for our next pickup.

It will have a retractable hard-top roof inspired by the oculus in the ancient Roman Pantheon, Mercedes-Benz Stadium’s retractable roof can open in 10 minutes or less to let the sunshine and fresh air in.

Mercedes-Benz Stadium By the Numbers:
- 71,000 seating capacity (expandable to 75k)
- 7,500 club seats
- 190 suites
- 63,800 scoreboard size in sq ft. (1st in NFL)
- 14.5 roof size in acres

Mercedes-Benz Stadium will incorporate the latest in sustainable advancements related to design, construction and operations, becoming a model of healthy environments for healthy bodies.

Water Conservation

The stadium design and operating plans anticipate the achievement of all LEED water-related credits, a first for any sports facility. This includes water use efficiency and rainwater capture and reuse.

Renewable Energy

Solar PV panels will be installed on the Mercedes-Benz Stadium site and GWCC campus. In addition, electric vehicle charging stations will be installed in various parking areas.

Energy Usage Reduction

An “open stadium” operational approach to the facility provides opportunities to use natural light and outside air to reduce energy usage. In addition, building control systems will manage and monitor energy consumption including lighting and heating/cooling use, and LED lighting will reduce energy usage by as much as 50 percent.

Alternative Transportation

The Mercedes-Benz Stadium site provides excellent transit access for patron use, with three MARTA rail line stations within .7 miles or less of the building. The new stadium property layout also encourages use of bicycle and alternative fuel vehicle usage through direct connection to the Atlanta Bike Trail Network and the availability of electric vehicle charging stations. In addition, pedestrian-friendly walking paths allow for easy connectivity between the communities on the west side of the stadium and the downtown area to the east.

Mercedes-Benz IAA Concept Car

A fuel/electric hybrid by Mercedes-Benz, the Concept IAA has a fuel economy of 191.6 m.p.g. and a top speed of 155 m.p.h. Its most futuristic feature? The car has the ability to automatically transform shape: At speeds greater than 50 m.p.h., a metal frame extends from the rear, lengthening the vehicle and improving its aerodynamic performance.
The Mercedes-Benz “Concept IAA” (Intelligent Aerodynamic Automobile) switches automatically from design mode to aerodynamic mode when the vehicle reaches a speed of 80 km/h, whereby numerous aerodynamics measures alter the shape of the vehicle. For this reason the study is two cars in one: an aerodynamics world champion with a Cd value of 0.19 and a four-door coupĂ© embodying irresistible design.
Inside, the “Concept IAA” continues the design line of the S-Class and S-Class CoupĂ©, offers new touch-based functions and provides an idea of what the interior of a business saloon might look like in the near future.

The C-Class has gotten an upgrade

Mercedes-Benz has updated a member of its C-Class, unveiling a new C-Class Coupe several weeks ahead of its official September debut at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show. The car’s design reflects a focus on both performance and aesthetics. “We honed in to ensure maximum driving enjoyment,” says Heiko Schmidt, product manager for the C-Class at Mercedes-Benz USA. “This meant lowering the car 15 millimeters [approximately 0.62 inches] compared with the C-Class sedan, which makes the vehicle more sport-tuned. We also reduced the car weight by using alloy components and included 18-inch wheels to ensure agile handling on the turn.”

“Among the most important elements in our new model were the ways our designers explicitly sacrificed some function to focus on form,” adds Gorden Wagener, vice president of design for Daimler AG. “The C-Class Coupe is 2.4 inches longer than its predecessor, which means the front is more striking with its long, aggressive hood and the rear has a bold new look.”

The new C-Class Coupe will initially be available as a C300 four-cylinder (both rear-wheel and all-wheel drive) when it is launched in Spring 2016.

The Best Mercedes for winter driving? The Mercedes C-Class..

The Mercedes-Benz C-Class is a safe, reliable series of upscale small sedans and coupes. For versatility, opt for the four-door version of the C-Class, which provides comfortable seating for five passengers. Reviewers say that the base C-Class, the C300, offers good handling, and its 241-horsepower, turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine is potent enough. Upgrading to the C400 model provides 329 horsepower, courtesy of a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6 engine. The C300 is available with Mercedes-Benz' 4MATIC all-wheel drive system (it comes standard on the C400), which will provide the best support for winter driving. The C-Class offers heated front seats as an option, and the features menu also provides plenty of safety equipment for a comfortable and composed all-weather commute.
